Yes. All registered drivers are required to hold liability insurance, which means that if they cause an accident, their insurance will pay for damages to the other peoples’ cars. So, if the person does hold the required insurance, and is entirely at fault, your damages will be covered.

I know someone presently in that situation. If the insured person is at fault (states so on police report) you should do your best to obtain a police report and get his insurance information. You or your attorney should contact his insurance company to file a claim. This is the stage my friend is at. I will let you know how it turns out. In her situation she was able to obtain an arrest report as it was the hit and run of a parked car by a toasted driver. The driver was arrested that evening and several other cars on the block were bruised.

If someone hits your car and you have pl-pd insurance will their insurance cover your car if they were totally at fault?
Yes.eg: If you have pl/pd, the insurance won’t pay for repairs for YOUR car if it is you fault, but they will pay the repairs for the other car.

There’s the big problem of having only the required liability insurance. If you do not have comprehensive and collision, you may have to sue the at-fault driver to force his insurance carrier pay. If you have coverage of your own, you can file a claim with your agent and instantaneously collect the damages (less your deductible) and your company will sue his if necessary. If and when they win or receive a settlement, you will get your deductible back.
If someone with insurance is found at fault when they hit an uninsured driver does the at fault drivers insurance still pay for harm to the uninsured car?
You should recover compensation, but in the UK driving without motor insurance is a criminal offence so you could be prosecuted by the authorities. Also – the mechanics of the collision are significant. For example – drivers without insurance fairly often have no driving licence: if the accident was contributed in part by inexperience of the person with no licence compensation could amounts could be diminished by a percentage. See the related link entitled “car driver injury claims” to see when car drivers can recover compensation.
Does plpd insurance cover the replacement cost of the other car if you hit someones car from behind and totaled it?
Property harm within your auto policy will cover any harm you may cause from an accident. Liability is for any medical attention they may need..
Response .
PLPD INSURANCE IS STANDARD MINIMUM COVERAGE THAT PROTECTS YOUR VEHICLE IN THE CASE OF AN AT FAULT ACCIDENT, HENCE WHY IT IS MANDATORY. NO-FAULT LAWS Permit COVERAGE FROM YOUR OWN INSURANCE COMPANY TO COVER YOUR OWN VEHICLE. IF YOU WERE NOT AT FAULT IN AN ACCIDENT (SOUNDS LIKE YOU WERE IN THIS ONE) THERE WOULD BE COVERAGE FOR YOUR VEHICLE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT. THE OTHER DRIVER’S VEHICLE WILL BE COVERED UNDER THEIR OWN POLICY. YOUR POLICY WORKS FOR YOU ONLY..
.
Comprehensive pays for harm to your car from vandalism and Acts of God (hail, flood, falling trees, gravel thrown by traffic) and Collision pay for damages to your car when it collides with anything (another car, tree, road sign) if you are at fault. Individual Liability (PL) pays for injuries you cause and Property Harm (PD) pays for harm you cause to another person’s property. If the other party is at fault, their insurance pays.

What happens if you have no insurance and you were hit by someone without car insurance?
You each walk away with nothing – your only recourse is to take the person who hit you to court and sue for damages. However, chances are if that person has no insurance, they have no job, and thus no income which to pay you the damages should the court award in your favor.
If you hit your house with your car will it be covered by home owners insurance?
This has actually happened to people who are insured with our agency, and yes, it is covered under your homeowners insurance. Bear in mind that you will have to pay your deductible on the home insurance, and that damages to the car would be covered under the car insurance if you have collision coverage on the car, and a deductible will most likely apply here as well. If you do not have collision coverage on the car, then you will need to pay the utter cost out of your own pocket to get the car immobilized..
We also recommend that you expect to be cancelled later if you do this more than once. 😉
Will you get compensated if your uninsured car was parked on the street and got hit by someone with insurance and was totaled?
if “your” vehicle has NO insurence, you are not entitled to compensation…meaning…you get nothing..and the fact that it was parked in a “public place” makes for an even stronger agument against any suit seeking damages.

Even tho’ we have a LAW, it is a paper tiger..
I have dialed numbers until my fingers are blistered. I have talked on the phone until my ears are sore and my mouth hurts. In the end, I have been transferred, given wrong numbers and told to contact my congressman to “strengthen” our mandatory insurance law..
I did find out one thing however, we have a form called an SR-13 that can be downloaded from the Alabama Dept. Of Public Safety website. Even tho’ this has nothing to do with the law or disturbance of it, it is tied to an old law that protects people from suffering a loss in the event of an accident with someone who has no insurance. Basically, their license will be suspended from anywhere inbetween Two and Ten years. Depending on the circumstance. If you are in Alabama, call the Dept. Of Public Safety and ask about this form or go to the website… https://www.dps.state.al.us/ and go after the quick links.. If you’re not, contact the same department in your state and commence there. Hope this helps.

Someone hit you an Neither I or other driver has insurance on our car who is at fault?
Who is at fault has to do with the accident itself not the insurance coverage. A police report of the accident and looking at the proximate cause of the accident help determine fault. .
